- I should have brought my rubber boots. It's a wet day up in Northern BC as the Rockets prepare to face the Prince George Cougars tonight at the CN Centre. A temperature of plus six greeted the team as they went for a quick skate this morning. The Rockets are looking for their 8th straight win tonight against a Cougar team which has lost its way over the last couple of weeks. You have to remember that the Cougars held down first place in the BC Division at the Christmas break and now find themselves 10 points off the pace.
- The Rockets will start rookie Jordon Cooke in goal. Cooke's last win was a 4-3 victory in Tri City back on January 23rd.
- Mitchell Callahan will sit out tonight's game. The 19 year-old was hit in the head by Chilliwack defenceman Tyler Stahl late in Wednesday's 6-4 win. Callahan could play tomorrow in the rematch.
- Cougars leading scorer Brett Connolly has four goals against the Rockets in the seasonal series. Three of those four goals came in back-to-back games here in late November.
The last time these two team's met, Connolly was -5. - Geordie Wudrick enters tonight's game with goals in three straight games. If he can copy his output in the month of February like he did two seasons ago in Swift Current, forty goals is a possibility. Wudrick had 11 goals in February 2009.
- The Cougars can score on home ice. In three of their last four at the CN Centre they have scored 7 or more goals.
- While Saskatoon Blades Stefan Elliott leads the WHL in scoring by defenceman, Rockets d-man Tyson Barrie actually has more points per game. Barrie has 1.30 points per game compared to Elliott's 1.14.
- Barrie has 1+10=11 in seven games against the Cougars this season.
- Barrie has 39 points in 32 career games against the Cougars. Of those 39 points, 33 are assists.
