Too Hot for TV? The X Factor (UK equivalent of American Idol) finale episode which aired live Saturday night on UK's ITV channel, has reportedly angered thousands of viewers and parents who are outraged at the explicit and sexually suggestive dance moves during Rihanna and Christina Aguillera's performance. Many have compared the performances to 'soft porn' using adjectives like 'sleazy, slutty and raunchy.'
Critics called on media regulator Ofcom to launch an inquiry into why ‘disgusting’ routines were shown suggesting that they could have broken Ofcom’s broadcasting code which seeks to protect children from sexualised content. The regulations state that: ‘material that is unsuitable for children should not, in general, be shown before 9pm or after 5.30am.’
