The Korean-pop girl group 2NE1 will be having a one-night concert in Manila on May 15, 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Happee Sy of Pulp Live Productions has confirmed the news by posting a message on 2NE1 Facebook fan page.
“May 15 : THE PARTY @ Araneta Coliseum ! :) we got bigger! :D eh.. eh.. eh.. eh.. eh.. eh..eh…eh! and as tradition, we will be having THE FIESTA ! same location as last ss3,” Sy's message reads.
2NE1 is an all-girl pop and hiphop group in South Korea formed in 2009 by YG Entertainment. Four girls namely CL, Minzy, Bom and Dara comprise the group.
Dara (Sandara Park) is the most popular to the Filipinos since she previously joined a star search in the Philippines and was able to do a Tagalog movie and recorded a song while being a talent of the Philippine TV network, ABS-CBN.
I heard everyone in Araneta are having a blast right now since the all-male K-Pop group Super Junior are currently performing in front of their Filipino fans who are quite many!

One of the new artists in 2010 who made it big time in the international music scene, Half-Noypi Peter Gene Hernandez, popularly known as "Bruno Mars", will be in the Philippines in April 2011 for a couple of concerts. His first concert will be held at Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on April 7, 2011 at 7pm. The following day, April 8, 2011, he will entertain his fans in Manila where his second concert will take place at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds at 7pm.
Ticket prices have not been divulged. But as soon as info about them are available this post will be updated.
Bruno Mars was born on October 8, 1985. His father called him Bruno at the age of two (2) because he was a chubby baby and because there was a famous chubby wrestler at the time called Bruno Sammartino.
Bruno Mars was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii by parents Pete and Bernadette “Bernie” Hernandez, of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent, respectively. His mother emigrated to Hawaii from the Philippines as a child and his father moved to the island from Brooklyn, New York.
He became popular as a solo artist after sharing his vocals and co-writing the hooks for the songs “Nothin’ on You” by B.o.B, and “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy.
His debut album was released in October 2010 called Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Anchored by the singles “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade“.
Bruno Mars has been nominated for seven (7) Grammys at the 53rd Grammy Awards, which will be held on February 13, 2011.

Tonight we all went to the Barenaked Ladies concert. The BNL's for those of you who don't know are a famous Canadian band... great, great band! Their most famous song is "If I Had A Million Dollars" and they have dozens of household tunes to jam pack their concert. Funnily enough the last time I saw them live was also here in Ottawa during Winterlude 3 years ago... weird ;-)
Anyways two nights in a row at Corel Centre Scotia Bank Place ("the SCANK") as we also hit the sens game last night (4-3 overtime win baby!! :-)
