Kelowna Rockets defenceman Tyson Barrie will go for gold at the World Junior Hockey Championships Wednesday night.
Team Canada will face Russia.
Barrie is trying to become the first Rockets player since Jamie Benn and Tyler Myers in 2008 to win a gold at the high profile international tournament.
Ryan Huska, an assistant coach for Team Canada, is trying to become the first Rockets coach since Marcel Comeau in 1995 to win gold. Comeau led Canada to a win over Russia in the championship game in Red Deer.
Marc Habscheid won a silver medal as assistant coach in 2002 and head coach in 2003 before Jeff Truitt won a silver as Team Canada's video coach in 2004.
Rockets forward Mitchell Callahan, as a member of the USA, will play for bronze earlier in the day.
