Troy Passingham has become quite a story.
In 2007, he was the Saint John Sea Dogs’ third string goaltender and only saw action twice all season. Fast-forward to last spring, he was hoisting the Memorial Cup as a member of the Windsor Spitfires.
Passingham went 35-10-3 in the Ontario Hockey League with the Spits last season, a far cry from is 1-1 record with Saint John during the 2007-08 campaign.
On January 8, the Spitfires traded the overage goalie and an eighth-round pick in 2011 to the Sarnia Sting. In exchange, the Spits got defenseman Brent Sullivan and goaltender John Cullen.
Yesterday, A Channel News in London had a great piece on Passingham’s epic journey.
