Less than 500 tickets remain for the Game One of the 2010 Subway Super Series reports the Saint John Sea Dogs website. A limited number of standing room tickets will be available for $14 each when there are no seats remaining.
The game, which takes place next Monday at 7:00 pm at Harbour Station, will be on a one-hour tape delay on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS for those unable to attend the match.
"We need to sell just under 600 tickets between now and Monday,'' said Sea Dogs president Wayne Long in today’s Telegraph-Journal. "I would encourage people to get out now and get their tickets.''
The Sea Dogs’ Twitter page tweeted yesterday afternoon that roughly 600 tickets were still available for the match that will see Team QMJHL take on a team of Russian junior players.
With so few tickets left and the Saint John market traditionally being patient when it comes to buying such things, this game should be a sell out. By having a capacity crowd, it should give Saint John’s 2012 Memorial Cup hosting hopes a minor boost.
When Harbour Station played host to the game back in 2008, the game sold out with several days remaining until the contest. Although fans don’t really get passionate about this coast-to-coast six game series, the Station was rocking as the Russians defeated the QMJHL all-stars.
Game Two of the series will be November on 10 in Drummondville. Mikael Lalancette has been keeping track an eye on ticket sales in the Quebec city, where the game is becoming a tough sell.
