So I've been out of town for the past week or so and I've been too busy to check my computer. I've got like 75 facebook updates and way too many emails. And way too many Caps related things to update on. So I'm making this short and sweet. Hopefully.
WELCOME TO WASHINGTON MIKE KNUBLE.
*His sweater makes us vomit*
Caps picked up Mike Knuble, a veteran winger who has played for the Flyers (vomit) for a long time. $5.6 million for 2 years. Which in my opinion is reasonable considering he can play on specialty teams and has a "nose for the net" and has scored over twenty goals in each of his last six seasons. And he's tough. Maybe not as tough as Brash...okay NOT as tough as Brash but he's gritty and helpful and we welcome him with open arms (while trying to ignore that ugly orange jersey. ew.)
SPEAKING OF BRASH...WE'LL MISS YOU TOUGH GUY
Man, we're gonna miss you. And your fists.
He's headed off to the Rags for 2 years ($1.4 million a year). GMGM said we just couldn't pay that much for him. And he wasn't concerned about loosing our tough guy.
Wait. The RAGS, you say?
As in the Rangers? The team who pushed for him to be suspended because of the Betts hit? No...
Well it's the truth.
Have fun in New York, Brash. We want you to whip Sean Avery into shape. His behaviour is an embarassment to the sport. "What a punk" (to quote my dad every time he is mentioned). We're counting on you Brash. See you next season.
P.S. This article came out before the blog was started but since he's leaving, I thought it was an appropriate time to bring up this article on Brash. It's really interesting and touching and inspiring. We love you Brash!
WELCOME TO WASHINGTON BRENDAN MORRISON.
The 34 year old center has signed a one year $1.5 million contract. Which is apparently quite a bit less than what he got last season. He played with Vancuver for a while then Anaheim and Dallas got him in March. He's expected to take over Fed's role as second line center which Broosky could have done but GMGM never shies away from a talented center.
According to Tarik El-Bashir, the Caps are a bit over the $56.8 million salary cap and if they are moving up Al, Carlson, and any other Hershey boys, they are going to need to give somebody away. We're hoping it will be Shultzy. No offense, pal. But Juice has already got the "enormous defenseman" spot covered. And I want Al and Carlson making the team next year...
Speaking of Juice, let us not forget this absolutely gorgeous moment in Caps history
*cue hallelujah chorus*
We love WahooWa1819's comment "Welcome to Jurcina's world crosbitch"
Also, the development camp schedule and roster has been posted! We were not surprised to see that Al, Varly, and Neuvy will not be there. It was to be expected. Karl is already a shoe-in to make the team next year and I'm guessing Varly will win the battle in training camp in the fall. Oh well.

I want to go on Saturday for the scrimmage but we'll see how it goes. I really want to watch Anton Gustafsson, Cody Eakin, John Carlson, Francois Bouchard, and I really wanted to see Marcus Johansson but he had a prior commitment and can't make it.
I'm also excited for the 8 level spiral ramp. I love Kettler.
